I wasn't really trying to plug M5 as being 'super-realistic' out of the box. I think I made the point that a lot of people just want to load and render or if they do dial up musculature they do so without really having anatomical knowledge. If you're experimenting with M5 and saying he doesn't come up to scratch for you then fine, but I think to base an opinion on other peoples renders which may not show him to his best, so to speak, is not entirely fair since there are an awful lot of dials that can used to tweak pretty much everything.
As to the amorphous nature of Genesis, I'm guessing that V5/M5 are the answer to those requiring a more feminine/masculine/less amorphous body. I don't have V5 so I don't know what 'improvements' over the base female you get.
To me, Anastasia and I admit I could only find this piccy of her http://blog.smithmicro.com/2012/03/12/poser-3d/blackhearteds-new-girl-next-door-anastasia-for-posers-alyson-2/
so may not have been looking her best, looks far too 'stylised' and as if she has a coat hanger in her shoulders. As a Pilates teacher I'd be telling her to stop using her shoulders for earrings. Very, very few women have knees that boney or with calf muscles that pronounced (that I see anyway, maybe in the US it's different). Antonia has a very nice torso and realistic looking boobs, but again her limbs, to me, let her down. Then again, I tend to render more males than females and like my women looking like real imperfect ladies, not supermodels. :)
But as you say, you pays your money and you takes your choice.
GRIM said:I, for one, have not renewed my PC membership. I have enough crap to keep me busy for a year or so; between programs, tutorials, a few things I decided to actually purchase here and there- I have no need or want to keep giving them more cash. I did finally break out the DS4 Pro and piddled for a little bit, and I agree with Jim on the anatomic issues with the Gen model- using the basic male/female or M5/V5 "models".
I did render one out, and at least the render engine was quicker than the DS3 A I have- same light set up on both. Even with the hair. Test run here is Gen with M5. D3 morphs, Muscularity and base morphs, David skin, Twilya for V4 for the hair and Nano's Scandalous shirt she made with the base textures. The program, after conforming, worked well enough that minor adjustments were needed only on the shirt and none on the hair to get them to fit the Gen model.
I will use all of my programs to keep my options open, however I still have a lot to learn on each. In the end, what gives me the end result I want will be used be it Studio, Carrara, Bryce, or Poser Pro. XD
Sanka on both parts, Nanooo! I was piddling to see if I could come up with a Gen version of Mikhail, a more 'believeable'/ 'humanistic' version anyway. XD I wanted to artify, but didn't have the brain power to work with anything serious. It's been a long week...longer weekend..I need to crawl back under the stairs for a few days and be a recluse I think.
That, or someone find me a quad-espresso with a heavy dose of Happy before things go downhill. *Grin*

Quad espresso I could manage, but the Happy? I only have the liquid sort.
He's lovely, but he doesn't quite say Mikhail to me. Mik's eyebrows seemed more arched. Well, that and he has the trademark Van Dyke beard. (Eyebrows, of course, depend on the skin used. It's why I kept changing Alex's around for a while--to find proper eyebrows.) But those are superficial things.
They are important things! :) Yeah, he isn't quite Mikhail to me either. The facial structure isn't right, and definitely the arch to the eyebrows is not what I wanted. For his morph it was part facial morphing part brows- and that beard. XD Do you know I never pictured my figment with one until I found that texture set?
I can still hear him protest once in a while for it to be removed from the man. *Grin*
He doesn't speak Mikhail to me at all...but there IS something in his face I liked. That, and the smirk. I'll have you know your shirt conformed almost perfect to the Gen figure in DS4 Pro! I was duly impressed. The only tweaking I had to do was on the upper shoulder/armpit area, and it was minor.
As for this past weekend I'd take that liquid Happy, with GLEE even. I'm so...durn....TIRED.....@.@

Actually it's scotch, whiskey and jose' if you have them all. It's my usual drink. One shot of Jim Beam, one shot of Jack Daniel's and one shot of Johnny Walker-neat, no ice.
Sometimes I'll add Jose Quervo or Petrone if I'm feelin' it.
I haven't gotten ill off of the Three Wisemen in years- give me one beer, though and in the E.R. I'll be in about twenty minutes. Last beer I had took three epi-pens and IV medications to counteract the allergic reaction I had gotten from it.
The Wise guys? Mm...A fav. My record had been eight of them before having to stop.

I tend to avoid wheat-beers and the super-hoppy, but I do make a darn good red ale. :D

It may be some small comfort to know that this allergy, while rare, is not unknown.GRIM said:I am allergic to hops.
However, I will not pardon the Industrial Strength Elf (Ariolas, one of my figments) on the left. Dar's Mikhail is on the right.
Nanobot said::D Y'all are the best.
Yes, that is one Industrial Strength Elf! Mikhail ain't half bad, neither, with that ankle-length hair and all. ;) I feel certain that Elf would not mind at all being a lollypop for cute ladies. He's a very naughty, unseelie Elf.

ETA - in another ten years, maybe I'll be that good at modeling. *heavysigh*
