*sigh* So not happy with this contractor.... he does a good job, I'll give him that, but he manipulates regarding what colors/materials to use. I accepted the suggestion on the cabinets but shouldn't the color/material of the tiles and countertops be *my* choice? I wanted stone counters, he said no. Apparently the tiles I picked are not "meant for a kitchen" just because of the color. The countertop doesn't even match the tiles.... *le sigh* If I wanted the kitchen f'ing hot pink and orange I would get a hot pink and orange kitchen....

Ah well. Just going to let him finish up.... I'm going to be moving out within a year or two anyway.

Weeee, I am finally back online and working again! I am sorry for being away for such a long time.... my computer did not work any more. I could go online at work but for the past two weeks I was on vacation and off work... and preparing the backups for the new computer system.... which finally arrived about a week ago!

You know how it works... you have to install everything from scratch, get the stuff installed. I am still far away from being done with all this.... and since I have three more days off I hope to get everything done which is still missing.

My new system is so worth it though! I am already in love with my eightcore with 32 Gigs of RAM... No mpre running out of memory while rendering ever again. :)

I know that feeling. I've only recently emotionally accepted the fact that we need to just sell my dad's car to a wrecking yard. The engine is good because we got it replaced with a Napa rebuilt a few years ago but the car as a whole is a money drain.

I thoroughly understand. I ran my last car until the wheels fell off. Not quite literally, but almost. Then sold it to a collector for a small amount--just happy that it went off to be an antique somewhere where it would be loved.

Silly in a good way though. I can totally relate. I am like that myself. My last car was 21 when it "died" and it made me.... sad!

Unfortunately this is a '90 Skylark. Not something that a collector will want. There are other Skylarks of similar years in the area so the wrecker should be able to sell the engine. I just need to see where I hid the paperwork for that work. It has less that 1000 miles on it since that installation. The problem is that a few months after we had that done it needed another $500.00 in various things then a few days after I got it home from that the main seal on the tranny blew..... the rear wheels are now locked.... I know my dad wouldn't have wanted me to keep pouring money into it when we have a car that dosen't need almost constant large expenditures.

If we wanted to sell the Bug ('73 VW Beetle half year) on the other hand... We keep getting people offering $2000.00 for it. We don't WANT to sell it. If we did we'd pay to have it hauled to California where it would go for several times the amount folks around here keep offering for it! It runs very well. Just needs a new air cleaner and tires.

Those shaders look so cool! *downloads for Poser usage*. Speaking of Poser, I finally got a new external hard drive... now to transfer my runtime there so I can make it Poser friendly... *shudder*.

At least once you have it Poser friendly you can use it with both Poser and D/S.

Well... I think there are a few things that are DS only that fall outside the usual Poser runtime structure that will have to stay as they are (someone correct me if I'm wrong...). I was just thinking of keeping two runtimes. Twice the work, I know, but it works for me.

I have just one runtime (well, just one runtime setup, but a bunch of themed runtimes), and yes, there are DS things that are outside the strict Poser runtime folder tree (Content folder for DS, etc); I also keep unzipped ReadMe files there -- rather haphazardly, I'm afraid. Should be neater. But I don't have a separate setup for DS.

Works fine for me. Less disk space, and I know where everything is.

Well, sort of. As much as I ever do. YMMV, ya know all that stuff.

hi, terre. well... my monitor died. now, if you have any idea how hard it is to find a 4:3 monitor anymore... i had to get a 5:4 monitor, no, i have no clue why they make them, and futz with it to get it to work. it was not sold warned as vista only, but we found out, after it got here, it has no xp drivers:( i still miss 98, if that's a clue. i only have xp by default.

we were rearranging the front room when i reached under the sink to find a drip... and katrina type black mold...

what began as a one to two day project turned into a week long, still not done, dry sink, new monitor, rearranged room but stuff still piled all over until we can get to it, bruised shin because i bashed into something that had moved into the way during all this...

and i never made my mother a birthday card. it's the one thing i have to make art for each year. it's going to be late. we have jerry rigged a bunch of things like boxes under boards to make tables, taking up broken things to salvage them, and saving a collapsed loveseat sofa by propping it up on the box my monitor just came in, lol. it now rocks, because the box is an inch taller than the underneath of the couch... this is what you do on fixed income to save things.
i now have a sort of cubby like corner. i got the old desk, shadow's cast off chair, the shells of previous computers acting as tiny end tables... shadow
opted for the big couch and the other 3/4 of the half of the room. the other half of the room is cut off by window, door and kitchen doorway so it's not really a half, more like a quarter, because you have to walk in somehow... this
is a tiny apartment with little storage, that used to be a kitchenette motel room back when it was a motel. it takes a lot of rethinking to store things here, and that includes food, since prices are high and going up all the time. we are doing the josephian egyptianoid stockpiling now before prices skyrocket after the storms in the south and east are about to send fuel through the roof, which means food goes up because rural areas like here, nowhere near a big city, are so far to get suppiles to... ok... i rambled...

hope you're doing ok.

btw, anybody have a comment of the new daz 4 point whatever? is it better than the older ones? just curious.

Well. We lost our modem/router last week and managed to get a new one by Monday, but this old system of mine refused to acknowledge the connection until...yesterday? Yeah, I think it was yesterday. Anyways...I'm online again thankfully. I've been doing this M series of late (Master or Mistress of *insert something here*) and after the fourth one went so well I may be formatting all of them with the additional pieces yet to come into either a calender or something of that nature. Anything for a few extra coinage, right? ;) May be getting a new system in the next couple of months, so wish me luck on that one.

Still no job. Still looking. Um..what else? O.o Scrounging for commission work here and there for various sites, and now have a small web portfolio to share! http://shownd.com/darwinsmishap 

So far, that's it. I may be forgetting a few things, and given my swiss cheese memory it's possible, but I'll toss in a *HUGS* to all around for forgiveness of that shortcoming. ;)
