    Salvador Dali, my hero!

    image

From the blog: "At the end of his shoot with artist Salvador Dali — a session that took
six hours and 28 throws (of water, a chair, and three cats), “my
assistants and I were wet, dirty and near complete exhaustion,”
photographer Philippe Halsman reported. The resulting image, with a
leaping Dali in midair amid the madness, is a portrait as kinetic and
    surreal as artist’s own work."

  • I think the image was worth the effort. :)
  • I use to spend my saturday afternoons at the Dali museum every weekend when I needed to clear my head for a particular test or paper. I loved it there.  Got to know all the docents by name and they got comfortable with me just sitting staring at the paintings.

  • MEH. I have what I like, what I wanted, and what I need. I'm not purchasing -any- new prgrams for a very, very long time. Just because they're 'new and improved' over the previous version (according to the company, mind you) doens't mean that the fantabulous program that I already have doesn't cut the mustard!

i want a new comp. Period. No more purchasing apps for moi. I'm going to be a stubborn, tight-fisted gothboi and get me a BOXX.

  • Good for you. :) Jim skipped Poser 8 because 7 did everything he needed it to do.
  • I basically went from Photoshop 4 to 5.5 with the free-6-upgrade. It's not quite out yet, but it'll be nice. Fact is, most firms and people only upgrade the Adobe suites every third major version, so they offer specials like this.

  • Mmm... reminds me there's yet another thing I wanted to try this summer: 3D Art Nouveau.

Maybe I should put that one at the bottom of the list. Because there's stuff that actually NEEDS to be done first...

    *sigh*

3 months is NOT enough, given course prep on top of it all.
    Suspiro ergo sum.
  • I've done a 3D Art Nouveau for last Halloween, it was an interesting experiment! I enjoyed it enough that I've been piecing something else together in that same style but again in a mix of 3D and 2D since. Hopefully it will come together.

Side Note- NAN......! I was ON that site today. LOL Through the breaks I've been looking at decrepid and "odd" housing. Check out the Capsule Towers! I wanna try and model something like that in the next year. I'd add a pic, but.......yeah. Can't from work. Stoopid Firewall won't allow uploads? Still?

  • Darn. One of the people that sometimes comments on my pix does INCREDIBLE effortless Art Nouveau 3d. And it's not even particularly over-framed and stylized--she just captures the spirit and flow of it. If only I could remember her name. Shoot, might be one of y'all... o_0
