  • Speaking of Mr. Meep-Meep, I always loved that cartoon as a child, partly because the Roadrunner is my home states' bird. At the same time I found it silly because I knew that roadrunners are predators, not seed eaters. LOL

ETA: Rattlesnake is a favorite dish for them.
  • don't blame them.  snakes are tasty!

  • Not yet. Next week.
    Suspiro ergo sum.
  • But Happy Easter to everyone else (for whom it is)!
    Suspiro ergo sum.
  • Ahhh. Yes, Eastern Orthodox, different calendar. And I missed wishing others a fine Passover as well. Hey, spring! The weather is beautiful here today--often it's a bit cloudy and cool on Easter in this part of the U.S.

  • Happy Easter.
Cloudy and cool here too. Which is better than Easter is most of the time. :)
  • The weather is wooooooooonderful over here on the West Coast in Cali! Oh, sun...how I've missed thee.

    HAPPY EASTER!
ladyfur: 'in your easter bonnet, with mandrakes all upon it, you'll be the faeriest fella in the easter parade...'
  • I've spent the last 25 years on the High Plains of Eastern New Mexico. We're where the weather systems from the Pacific and the Gulf of Mexico slam into each other. Easter can be warm and sunny (we've had three in the time I've been here) all the way to freezing and snowy (also three in the time I've been here). Usually it's just cold, sometimes with precipitation. Cool and cloudy is mild for Easter. :)
  • By the time Easter arrives, it's summer in South Texas. Hot and hotter, and sometimes muggy. Today was just warm -- but then it's not really Easter for me. In another week we could be stuck in the uppper 90s.
    Suspiro ergo sum.
  • *staggers-zombie walks in, finds a corner and FLOPS.* Happy sacrificial animal day? Oi. XD How is everyone!?
"I didn't attend the funeral, but I sent a nice letter saying that I approved of it. " Mark Twain.
  • Doing fine. What's caused the zombieization?
  • Overworked, anemic, the puppy, holidays that include over 40 people a pop? *chuckle* I didn't get to bed last night until about midnight. Puppy's up time is between 4:30-6. Usually I can get him back to sleep if he's up at 4:30, but this morning was a no go. He was up. He wanted food, play time, and outside. Not necessarily in that order. It's been six weeks since we've gotten him and it's been that way from day 3. He didn't sleep the first two days, nor did we. That's what happens when you get a puppy, though. ;) I need a pillow. *Snag, fluff, flop- grin!* Tag, you're it? *SNIRK*

I am no victim. I am Predator. *TOOTHY GRIN* Oh, I will. Hopefully? Maybe? *Chuckle* If not, I'll sleep well tonight. I still have that marshmallow.......thing........picking my brain. It wants out. I want it out. I want to know if I can DO this. :D

Peeps. The Christmas before last part of the candy that the store got in was brown peeps that were supposed to be reindeer. They looked more like bears to me.
  • Really, this is some astonishingly intense photography. It's masterful in that it's a series of portraits where the people are all in the same context--the shower. It's only faces and shoulders at most, so it's perfectly safe for work. Well, there's one possibly arty nude in there.

But the art is amazing, here. I wanted to point to it as something to aspire to, to move beyond what we are, today.

*blush* I did realize that... after some time. Not sure if it makes a difference in the way I see the images. Definitely makes no difference whatsoever in my appreciation. There is a lot of story and emotion even in the landscapes. Wow.

  • Hopefully I'll have more time tonight to go looking through there... I glanced (quick) here at work, but even so I decided to keep it safe and not stay. What I caught glimpses of...Just wow. :D

  • It makes everyone log back in now and then. Annoying but something I'm getting used to. Good to see you. :)
  • oh, good, i'm not alone here! the echoes were getting deafening...

ok... here is why i have been gone:

dec, i get told that after almost 30 years the state wants
to know if i am still disabled. say wha'? i explain
i can't travel well. she says travel doc. no longer
travels waaay up there anymore :(

jan, they schedule an appointment, 200 miles away, to
see their docs. our neighbor gets a friend to agree to lend
her the car. state cancels at last minute, reschedules.

feb, we make the long horrid trip, all four of us, me, shadow,
jan and her friend, because friend's hubby insists if it's
raining, his wifey has to drive, not her friend... we go. we
wait. their doc. never shows :( i throw up 4x on ride home,
(very windy twisty highway) and once after. she hits a huge
pothole... i hurt for days. shadow hit his bad knee on the
back of seat... within a week he cannot get off the couch.
state says they will settle for a shrink, not an md. i have
to do everything here because literally shadow is not off
    the couch, period.

march, state claims they can send me up to oregon instead.
then says, oops, oregon doc no longer does re evals. shadow
finally is able to get baths. can walk with cane, crutch, or
    sit in chair.

april, state finds out, miracle of miracles, travel doc. DOES
still travel, waaay up here. shadow is FINALLY off the couch
and able to walk without crutch or cane for first time since
    february!

doc came saturday. THREE AND A HALF HOURS OF TESTS.

as a friend in germany put it:

'that sounding like recruitment to me. are you sure it was real doctor?'

yes, it was, a very nice one. he kept apologizing.
of course i can't work! they said this in 1984, why
would it have changed? (insert appropriate opinion here)

i did my BEST. i mean i really tried. i tried to do math.
i don't do math. i tried to remember wierd pictures,
bits of stories... I CAN STILL SEE THOSE DAMM DOTS.

    when it got to drawing...

i think i confused him because i was rambling on
    about forshortning and perspective...

state says they will, 'decide', in a few weeks.

riiight. the doc. said there is no work i could do.
    i can't remember details, i can't count backwards,
    i don't do day...

anyway... that is why i've not been here since late
march, because we were waiting for state... that is
    my polite name for it.

i could NEVER pass the CSHPE today like i did in '77 :(
    that makes me sad.

ok, that was my rant for the day.

RIP to francemi on daz, btw. she died on good friday.

  • Japanese artist that paints--with paint!--three-dimensional goldfish in resin. Do watch the video. It's the first time I've seen anyone paint with a regular old broom.

  • Wow.. what an incredible video.  He's an amazing and very inspiring artist!

    so..

I went to see my parents over the Easter Holiday, have been back for a few days now.  Played hooky from work yesterday - very annoyed with my boss who refuses to take customer escalations (I work customer service)

Trying my hand at doing character morphs and textures today and trying to catch up on modeling classes.  I have to get stuff done this weekend!

I have a new render box, so poser is installed there too.  While working on the old maching on a character morph while rendering a pin up on the new one, I get a message. 'Another user already has that serial number'  then poser just closes down.. boom! On the old machine.  So annoyed, I lost my Antonia morph - working on a water nymph character I hope to sell in Antonia and A4 versions.

It's very annoying I can't keep both running.  I'm one person, just multi tasking.  :P

I may have to just render in background.  dang.. hate doing that, I'm always stopping my renders to tweak something I see.

  • well, I found out that I can buy a license to run another copy.. just hope it won't cost too much, but it will make it easier than trying to unhook one computer from the network.  :)
  • I hope that works out for you, too.

  •   Okay, let me set this scenario up for ya'll. I've been waiting all..ALL week to sit down and really crank out some renders. Sunday finally comes and I make sure I do everything, run every errand so that I can spent the rest of the evening rendering and post-working(and fixing poke-throughs, see I remembered!) and just work on my characters. And then what happens? The most awesome thing ever, guys. After my yearning, the ache to release my artistic expression, the need to render pretty elven people and naked men.....

My "muse" goes on vacation. >B|

I'm going to go listen to the zen channel, light some incense and try again in the morning. Love you all <3.

  • Commiserations. Been there. Currently wrestling with the laptop to finish a raw render. In hindsight I probably should have done this in layers, but then what about the reflections in the water (which are taking forever to calculate?)

    XD!
Been there! I was using DAZ and those Uber lights that take 18 hours to render and when I thought everything was done, there was no reflection on the water. We can facepalm together if you like.
