Of course, there's more than one way to skin the cat...

Meantime...I think I'm not doing modeling tonight because my shoulder is killing me for overwork this past weekend. Not that I don't WANT to...but...ow.

Saved me from having to have surgery in both shoulders. Seriously. Cannot recommend this product enough.

I always wondered what choreographing does...So now I can figure out how to do classical-style drapes in Poser. :D
  • And that's a fine thing!

(Re trackballs - pay no attention to my rude reply. I'm sorry. I find them ridiculously awkward. I use a mostly-sideways mouse anyhow.)

  • Ok, the laced shorts have a lower/better waistband now and have been uv mapped. Tomorrow: group those suckers and rig. Then we'll see what we have.

  • Dude, I haz a question for you on the laced shorts thing. Should there be a seam down the middle of the back and under the crotch AND seams on each side vertically down the back of the buttocks? Or just the middle? Or do you care?

It occurred to me when I woke up this morning that the back-of-the-leg seams like LT put on the undies might be the ticket.

Oh, and rivets. Forgot the rivets at stress points. Man, there are a LOT of pieces to these shorts!

  • Honesty, don't matter-mine have the added seams down the middle of the backs of the legs from waist to thigh and the front as well. Don't know if it's for added decoration or what, really. *Grin*

  • Aha! Well, that would make the UV maps a bit less stretchy, perhaps!

And of course, it's going to annoy me all day until I can fiddle with it. >_<

  • *Snirk, pets* I know the feeling. It may make them less stretchy! Hm. And give possibly extra options for texturing, too.

Well, I can get the mesh a touch more even that way and that'll make textures less distorted and difficult.

Mind you, if she writes a complete sentence, that's a lot. It borders on loquacious for her.

  • Latest on the shorts. I looked at the mesh on the back of the butt, and it really wasn't conducive to extruding a real seam, so I'm canning that idea for this set. Added some studs. All uv-mapped and ready to group! Yeehah!

  • Very nicely done.
  • The lacing and holes came out very well Nan. :)
  • I was about to comment on the lacing as well, :) Looks phenomenal, ^_^

  • Beautiful work!
  • Wow. I love the details. Very cool.
    Suspiro ergo sum.
  • Thank you! :)  The stitching on the base texture needs some work, but the idea is that it's a sort of light color and you just add your own diffuse color. Or use any other material from a collection, of course. I want to get this out today so you guys can beat on it. The flippin' JCMs still don't work right, but the morphs are *there* to be dialed up as fixes. And I did a morph to raise the package up a tad for sitting so it looks more natural.

Any chance there'll be long pants like that?  O.O
  • Yes, there will be long pants like that. I'm going to do some shoes, next, since I am very tired of staring at crotches.

Here are the shorts! I'm not a fabulous texturist, but it's got a starter set of six colors and a template. Both PZ2 and Materials collections for changing colors. Click the picture to download.

  • Looks wonderful! :)
  • They are great! Alas my elf needs to sit with them in a bath tub for the right fit, I fear since I used h4 morphs in combo with elite and muscle stuff, dang, but that should be easy enough to rectify with a little help from "morphing clothes".
  • I think it'll work fine. Take a gander at the morphs--I did use Morphing clothes, but it didn't distort the mesh at all at the high settings used. :)

  • Meantime, M4 dress boots, for LT's Yakuza guys--hence the pointy toe & stuff. You do one foot & then mirror. ;) Right foot looking good. Probably ready for UVmapping. The ridiculous colors are to make the material zones easy to identify while making.
