  • Good morning!

Well, heard back from Rendo.  "The lip colors don't look like they follow the complete lip shape and the promo lighting is too dark.  Re-render for better (lighter) shots so customers can see the product clearly."

    ...*Sigh*  Really.

  • Good morning. :)

Ugh, hopefully it won't be too hard to come up with something they like.
  • well, I looked at the lip color/base skin texture in photoshop again; if THEY had, they'd see the color is covering the entire lip surface area.  It's the shape of her lips that throws it off ...I'm not changing that.  It does what it's supposed to-cover her lips.

I don't want to render different promos- they fit her.  Still, I will see what I can come up with.  On the other hand, I sent a note to RDNA to see if they'll pick her up in the interim.

I suspect I'll need to collect that one.

Me, too. She's cool! Love all the tats and incisions.

I think the stark brightness of the red lips in that particular render made them look off. I'm with Wayii - although it's in character, it may not show her super-well for the first-up promo. For the "Artistic Render," so labeled, sure.

Promos may never quite show the character *in* character. It's sort of like an auction block in a slave sale--gotta show the goods up front, then the way you can use her. Alls you need is some tweaks and you're good.

  • Love that one, Jim!  Great light, pose, and she's smokin' in that one. XD

Thank you, Nan.  XD  I dropped that render and thumb so the powers that be would accept her promos, but I left the banner.  lol- more MY style.  The lightboxes are more mundane, for sure.  She's still in review due to the license (I copied from the actual license and added it into the readme-they wanted a link) so, it's still waiting.  Here's an example of one of the lightboxes I made for her product.

Interesting character creation going on here. I love the banner promo, it would certainly catch my eye.
  • Thank you very much!  She's up for sale now, so I'm happy.  Now, onto my Trystan-want to get him finished in the next month to get him out as well.

  • Tats are NOT as easy as people think.  Flash art is a good bit more involved than it seems to be by a lot.
  • Putting tats on humans or putting tats on digital people? Neither one sounds particularly easy.

  • Both, I believe.  Or at least where some of my friends are concerned.  You won't believe the stupid crap people want and where they want them put...especially when they come into the shop half drunk and not like being told they won't work on them until their sober.  lol

    OMG so true.

I drew my flash and did the flash for a number of old friends in the past.  Each piece was drawn to specifically work on the person it was for on the space they wanted inked, which is in a perfect world how all ink should begin.

I think that a lot of digital ink suffers from the same shortcomings and ickiness that far too much real ink shows, PLUS the ignorance of digital skin artists of how different tattoos actually look once healed in different sorts of skin.
  • Exactly.  *SNIRK*

For this skin tone/type I am going to work off how MY skin healed with such dark ink.  I'm paler than Trystan (Same color as m'socks, in fact) but it's the best reference for me.  I'm right here.  lol  That and the bleed of the lines, etc.  For now I'm working like stamping- placement, seeing how the lines move around the muscle, etc.  Once I'm happy with that (and the idea itself- which I'm leaning for the Maori style in that last sleeve) and have the placement where I want it, I'll go from there.

I've never personally done flash, but I've drawn out a few tats for people and let the professionals work how the lines need to be done.  It's better to have an idea base and do it that way than give the professional something that they can't even work with from jump.

Ridiculous, isn't it? and he loves his Mom, too. He woke me up this morning by mashing his face into mine and then cuddling up and wiggling a lot. It was awesome.

I've seen the funny videos of cats and dogs that don't like to be kissed. My two kitties are not them. Of course, Kay says, "He doesn't want ME to kiss him!"  and, with some envy, "They don't drape all over me like that." I tell her that you have to spend a LOT of time with them to earn that kind of easy intimacy. Well, that's the same as with human people. I earned all that flopping and Affectionating!

  • lol- ours is the same way with me, but she's "NO TOUCHING ..unless *I* come over to touch".  She wakes me up by shoving a paw into my mouth, or trying to open an eyelid.   One day, I swear she's going to really startle me and get flown.  Not..on purpose, but gut reaction.  She'll sit on my lap as long as I don't pet her, unless it's her ear.  lol Mark.....she'll go over and accept a scritch but then she's gone again two seconds later.  Her idea of socializing is sitting on my gut if I'm laying down as long as I'm not touching her or sitting behind one of us as we're talking on the couch.

  • Mine used to wake up my ex with the "single claw nose tap". She was a feisty thing. Soft and all over me, particularly the laptop I had and stand of fish with him - but then he pretty much would just pick her up and effectively dribble her round the room like a basketball or pretend she was Simba in the Lionking.

Is yours a rescue? Those poor souls often have some serious quirks. Likes her ear stroked, eh? I know an Elf that... oh, never mind.

My kitties (not my Elves) let me do anything to them...play with their teeth and paws, bite their ears, pull on their ankles while they've stuck them up in the air while sleeping...  The breeder took care to handle all the kittens very early, and consequently, having a nice home, they are very hand-tame. So worth it.

Hey, I'm the only broken person allowed in this house!  :P

  • Grim's sounds a lot like mine behaved. Man, I miss Pats...
  • awww...M'sorry, Raet.

Nope, we had her since she was barely weaned.  Trouble is just odd.  Yup-that's her name.  It suits her, trust me.  In psycho mode, she tears all over the house, chases her tail (it offends thee) torments the German Sheppard (who is usually in his cage at that time, so he tries to vault through the cage ceiling like an idiot after her), chews on my head and it's nap time for four hours after.

And yeees....like that certain elf, she does adore her ears scritched, rubbed, smoothed over and will do the revolving door (come over, demand ear scritches, leave, come back, and repeat) for an hour if she's in a mood.  Go to touch ANYthing else on her-she's gone.

  • Good afternoon. :)

I'm one of those many people who has been grumbling for years about having to change the clocks twice a year. Like a number of other states New Mexico has listened to it's citizens and a proposal doing away with the time changes has passed the NM State Senate.

My question to Santa Fe is why the blankety-blank would I want to be on Daylight time in the winter?
  • Hang on Terre, don't we still have another week before the "Spring forward" offensive here in Britain kicks off?
  • It already did here in the States and a bill has passed the New Mexico Senate to stay on Daylight time all year.
  • Daylight time all year? I thought people wanted to stay on standard all year... Hmm.

  • Standard time all year is what I want. I really can't see why they are looking at Daylight instead. That actually would increase some businesses heating bills a bit.
