I was bendable enough to be able to bend over, flatten both hands to the floor and go further until my head was between my knees for one example.  *grin* Another?  I once was able to twist my thumb inward enough to pull off handcuffs.  Not anymore- but there was a reason I was called "Gumby".

Genetics. Stiff = Tight connective tissue, or not a lot of cartilage between bones (lots of cartilage is what makes cats so bendy). Also, Gothboi is a skinny little monster.

Mind you, I can bend over and touch my palms onto the floor just fine, but even when I was quite slim, my legs would just never really rotate out from the hip ball joint quite enough for anything like a comfortable lotus position. I have to stretch pretty much all the time to stay limber.

Oh, and it's snowy today, so my nice new barometer-toe has been very grouchy.

I'm just like you, Nan. The funny thing is, even now, I can still bend and touch the floor without warming up or bending my knees, at least with the tip of my fingers, whereas super-pretzel kids have trouble with that. But things that involve rotating out of shape? No problem for them.

Genetics are a freaky thing, I say.

Heyas, AP, was wondering where you'd gotten to. :)

Long week, here. Work has finally shifted (and I knew it would) from the big main push to document ALL 529 stations to a real scattershot of tasks and niche-finding. Massive belt-tightening going on at work, and the word out is Be Useful or Be Gone. My boss advised me to take some risks and initiative to handle that, and I am. She usually doesn't have to hint more than once, and she's as connected as all get-out. She'd know.

So...I gotta package up some bits and bobs I was working on last weekend and get cracking on the bigger project, content-creation-wise. I need to do a picture, too.

And as if that wasn't enough, I'm closing in on writing the denouement for a rewrite, and I have to wind myself up for that.

Oh yes, house renovations will get underway shortly as well.

What I'm doing now: drinking a large shaker of margaritas, totally top-drawer. Yum!

Not long enough! I'm lucky enough to work in a private school and we get an entire week! Colleagues in the state sector only get a long weekend.
