Lol, you are probably closer to the horse's mouth in that respect than most of us. If your just faintly amused it can't be that bad, eh?

Regrettably, I am just as clueless as everyone else I'm afraid..  I know nuffink!

  • Apropos to nothing, drinking a caffeinated drink towards the end of your shift helps you get through the shift while being damn near bouncy, but it is certainly not conducive to sleeping once you get home. Neither is it being hungry. Ah well. I'll read a bit see if that lulls me to sleep.

    How is everyone?

Welcome to the newcomers! Glad you're here, :)
  • AP! *RUFFLE! Grin.* Heya. Actually- I can suck down a pot of java and fall asleep on the couch a half-hour later for a good couple of hours. I guess it comes from parasomnia; when you CAN sleep- Sleep. No matter (within reason) what is going on, where you are, and what you're doing. I learned that the hard way. Hospitalization is -not- fun.. As for how I iz? Fine as peach fuzz and ....sucking down more java. >.> :D

  • Moin, how is everybody?
  • Gutted to be back to work, but thanks for asking.. yourself?

  • Having a day off after a night of stomach cramps and being on the verge of projectile vomiting, but that's probably too much info, right? Nice new product over a Daz, btw.
  • Euuwwwww...  hope you feel better!
  • Yeah, getting there. Lying on the couch and listening to an audiobook, that's recuperation.

    Hope you feel better soon.
  • Aww...I hope you're feeling better soon!! *Hug!* Good afternoon, everyone.
-Glad to see you survived the birthday bash, Jack. :D

  • Hm. Interesting. *grin* I went ahead and snagged the DS4Pro, Bryce 7 Pro (I have 7, but not the Pro version) and the Hex 2.5 from Daz- and now my P7 with Morpheus was just delivered. I seem to have collected quite a few sets of programs here... With C8 (I want the upgrade to Pro for several reasons) to add to it. What's amusing to me is I think, combining all of the listed programs here, I've spent a grand total of $40.

With that sort of price tag I have no guilt in feeding my addiction. *Hee*

  • On the subject of weight-mapping figures for Poser 9/ Pro2012, saw this from LKendall on Rendo forum:

There is so much that needs to be done to catch up content with
P9/PP2012. Those folks working at PoserPlace are hoping to stimulate a
cascade of enthusiasm, participation, and generosity. We want to show
what can be done, and to encourage others to achieve as well.

There will be efforts to teach techniques in rigging and
weight-mapping to a wider audience of people, and we are hoping that
other legacy figures can be updated. We are also hoping that folks with
talents in other areas will get involved (modeling, morphing, texturing,
    materials, clothing, scripting, etc.).

We also want to stimulate the Poser economy. We really don't expect
everyone to do everything for free. We are very aware that content
creators have been put in a difficult postion. V4~WM extends their
investment of time in products already created for V4 as most of them
are compatible, or can be converted easily enough. We also hope that the
general quality of content can be upgraded to be P9/PP2012 compliant.
Some of our number are merchants and will be offering products, which we
hope will be received well in the Poser community.

The response so far has been phenominal. The V4~WM Crew is very
stoked at her reception. It has been hard work, but it has been fun too.

  • Hah! Makes you want to practice modeling and texturing some more. This is a fun vibe.
    Suspiro ergo sum.
  • Isn't it? There's a lot of room to run around in and things to tinker with. I was reading some positive support or M4 WM as well as V3 in the same thread (the V4 WM thread in the Poser forum at Rendo). They were talking about mentoring other teams of people who wanted to work on this sort of thing, too.

Hey, speaking of teams, what happened to you folks who wanted to do a render challenge in January?? What was it, a cooperative render to do storytelling?

Actually, speaking of render challenges... Back last spring LT and I considered doing an endurance render challenge, so to speak: Have one where the point of it was not one heroic effort but to produce the best one render you could on a periodic basis, weekly, and do it for like six weeks. The point is that consistent effort is far more beneficial from a learning and improving standpoint than one heroic effort after a prize. We wanted to get several admirable artists and vendors (besides ourselves) to judge and then offer a prize at the end for most improved as well as most persistent. We wanted to have people pick a genre or theme and mine that for the duration.
