Hot and Bothered: Erotic Art Thread (NSFW)
  • Hey all. Considering the recent conversations that have been occurring in the Artistic Nudes thread, I'm creating a specific spot for anything that falls outside of that specific category. If you feel it might be too erotic (focused more on sexuality than simply the nude body) then please put it here.

This way, we can hopefully avoid more arguments over what is appropriate to put in that thread and just keep things moving along.

I would still encourage you to put your art nudes in that thread and learn more about what is considered an art nude, however, if you are unsure where your image may fall, it's probably safer to post it here.

I would ask that you please keep images tasteful in this thread. No explicit images of intercourse. I am afraid those will get zapped, as Nan's server will not allow such things. Let's keep this in the realm of reason, folks. I don't mind frontal nudity (male or female), but no big close-ups of genitalia and no outright pornographic imagery. Let's be tasteful about it.

That said, have at it. I'll get us started:

    image
  • Rodin Inspired 'The Bronze Age' (named for the original sculpture):

    image

  • And another Rodin inspired piece (from 'The Eternal Idol'), quite fitting for this thread, I think... 'Eros':image
    Eros.jpg
    1060 x 1500 - 651K
  • That last one is one of my favorites. I came across a photo of the Rodin original -- what a wonderful tribute you did.
    Suspiro ergo sum.
  • To clarify what belongs here, I'm borrowing Jim's description as it gives a good guideline as to what falls into this category.

Erotica: [Art with a focus on the subject(s) as a sexual being.] Occasionally includes objectification by removing the head or other extraneous details that would allow us to guess at the character's emotional state, to focus the viewer's attention on the character's body. Either way, however, the focus of the work is on the character's sexuality, without actually showing copulation. Example: Rodin's "Eternal Idol", where the focus of the work is the man's intense desire for his female partner, and her enjoyment of his worshipful attentions. Rule of thumb: If the impact of the image would definitely be reduced by strategically placed fig-leaves or swimsuits, it's erotica.

*(brackets indicate an update by me to make it stand on its own)

So, this would include art studies that fall on the sensual side of things (like the above posts of mine), pin-ups, etc.

If you have questions feel free to ask or PM me and I can guide you, if you feel your stuff may or may not belong.
  • Soooo..... there you are, a pinup of mine... :)

  • And some old ones for this threat, too.The second one they censored over at Daz back in the day, still dont understand why. Probably because it kinda advertised Poser.

  • More likely that it had pubic hair and that was a no-no over there.

I recall the top one too. Was that dynamic cloth on the towel?

The hardlyspottable pubes that are covered and shaded? Well, some people...
To answer your question...The bear flag towel? No, that was one of its poses Oskarsson at Rendo handed out along with it. I have a feeling that morph pose was originally done using a cloth room simulation and the saved as a morph target. My guess is, the same is true for the draped props, you'd have to ask Ness productions whether our suspicions are right, though.
  • They banned images for far less. I suspect that it was likely also the fact that there was an 'imagined' full frontal nudity. Who knows?!
  • Yeah I remember they culled one of mine in which two men were about to kiss and just because one wasn't wearing pants while the other was fully clothed and they claimed a "sexual act" was performed when similar pictures with women were acceptable. The same was true for many a picture showing bare-breasted Vickies using their curves to lure unsuspecting toons into temples that , one must assume, were devoted to the gods of sexualty and lust.
  • Let's not worry about DAZ anymore, they've become irrelevant at this juncture.

  • Very true.
  • I concur. Somehow I get the feeling they will feel the pinch resulting from their let's devote all efforts to Genesis policy.
  • Raet: I like both images.
Hopefully this won't come across the wrong way but I giggled at the second. I could just hear the spokesman intoning the line and I've always found that sort of ad slightly silly. Probably because although I'm aware of "social levels" they've never mattered to me.
  • I like them too. Makes me want to work on a shower scene. Even though I already have too many projects going... oh, and that pesky day job.
    Suspiro ergo sum.
  • Great work on the images.

Eh, Rendo killed one of mine that had a father holding his baby son in his arms.  The kid was curled into his arms and the diaper was hidden (And I shrunk the damn thing since it was so damn tacky looking) and the snipped it for "child pornography".

It was called "A Father's Love" or something.   Really?  *Snort* Sometimes people really need to consider what is being shown or at least inquire to the artist behind the reason of why it's there before just tossing the submission.

Yours is great, Raet.  Really like the "advertisement" one. :)

  • Good grief.
Agree, the ad one is great. :)

Rendo's policies vis-a-vis nudity and how erratically they are applied are why I stopped posting there.  One day an image is perfectly fine, then the next day, the same image isn't fine.  The essential problem, as I discovered chatting with a moderator later, is that their mod team is swamped - the number of images a day they get is often equal to DA's submissions.

Cheers you guys. To be honest, Terre it was always meant to make people giggle. I think it predates the bizarre Old Spice adds, but you can just about here the guy say "*Snap* You are in a shower, the man you want is lathering up..."
  • Very nice, Xaa. Love that proud pose and the side-lighting, creating those lovely deep shadows. Man, that arch in her back is very sexy!

Raet, I can totally hear that voice-over! :D
  • Great pinup Xaa!  (hearing ZZ Tops' "She's Got Legs" playing in the background)

  • Renderosity... the only pictures I post there are for giving credit to vendors that I like... my whole gallery that I used to have there I deleted a while ago because of their prudish and often not understandable standards. ;)

Talking about prudish... this guy for sure is not... made this as a birthday gift for a friend. he is one of her favorite guys of mine and sice she likes looking at pinups... :)

  • i have to jump in here...

pornea, to make dirty, graphic, manual,
dirty writing or pictures. that was what it
originally meant. now dirty gets defined
by people as they see fit. to me, as a
survivor, porn is exploitation of women,
    yes, and men, and children.

erotica is sensuality, like many classic
nudes, frazetta, etc. it's not about sex,
    it's about attitude.

    censorship: don't get me started!

    daz/az pulled a beautiful animation
shadow made of a mixed species
    humanoid couple under a waterfall,
that was not porn at all! it was a
could helping each other bathe. :(

what is wrong with adults these days?

please post the father baby pic somewhere,
ok? not on this thread, but somewhere. i'm
    sure it's very nice.

um... the pic with cupid, his parts are awfully
tiny, it seems... or was that the other thread?
    sorry, i forgot.

pubic hair means puberty. lack of it means
it's a CHILD. why in he// would ANYBODY
want to say depicting adults as children but
still adults is ok, but showing them normal
is not? ok, some adults shave, but that is
painful :( i see no pubic hair in a pic and i
    cringe. ouch!

um... mav, i had to think twice, his hair is
white in both places, got it. for a second
i thought he had a furry donut or something
    on his lap, lol.

ok... i had to say something. i'm trying to
keep it polite and not give my unedited
opinion of those sites and their tighter
laced than a victorian corset hypocracy
    rules are...

    nice art :)

edited a stupid typo, then edited a mistake.

  • Waxing would be painful.
Shaving isn't if you're careful. In my case, once I tried it, It actually helped. My skin is very sensitive to irritations and shaving greatly reduced problems caused by hairs coming loose.
  • How comfortable or necessary hair removal is is highly individual, my experience tells me--so one shouldn't feel bad for shaven people! Liking hair or not, that's different. :)

It is only logical that his hair down there would be white as well... hehe.

As for the shaving... I like men with hair... when it is too long it can as well be trimmed. I myself prefer to get rid of all my body hair... for feeling good myself. See, so it is sort of like two different opinions about it in one and the same person. XD

I think, everybody should do what they like with this. It is all a matter of personal taste and how one feels the most comfortable. :)

  • Ah, finally I get to see the picture (no longer being at work). Love the pose!

  • I love how you painted his black hair... I find it hard to paint deep black hair. I am getting better with it but I am not finished with learning about it.
  • Less is more with hair painting, I find. Dark hair doesn't pick up the colors of the environment the way that light colored hair does! So it's more about suggesting what's going on than showing it.

  • Yup, I always find myself ending up with way to many details on black hair...and then I darken it afterwards and the details go away again... and I could have saved myself so much work and time...

    Otherwise, a quick synopsis:
Kyle has received a mysterious visit from Ko and after passing out decides to take a shower where he might/might not be joined by Zeke. ;)

The bathroom elements are a little overpowering, but I wanted to portray the ambiguity of D's writing. Is Zeke
really there, or is Kyle only imagining that he is; how much has he been influenced by Ko's visit?
The bars of the glass brick shower screening are quite harsh, but I felt they represented the 'imprisonment' and separation of the characters.
I used the light play around Zeke to represent D's 'amethyst' rose reference. The light is in a stenciled rose design, although it doesn't show up that well. I also gave Zeke Ko's eyes (he has one purple, one gold) but again this isn't immediately obvious :(

  • What a lovely bathroom you've got to place your boys in. A shame that you can hardly tell that the shower is actually running.
  • Well you don't tend to be able to see much through those glass bricks, in fact Kyle is probably a little too 'sharp', but there is rendered in water coming from the shower head, mostly seen in the splash against the bricks bottom right. Kyle also has a 'wet' body using a spec map. You can just make out the water streaks if you look at it full size.

Thanks for the comment though. Appreciate it ;)
