  • Thank you!

That render is beautiful, Nan.  Absolutely- and it makes me wanna go visit, like I always wanted too.  That'd be one place I'd want to go before I croak.  XD

    Loverly.

:D   I have been. They haven't let people right up to the stones since around 1970, but the vibe of the place--! Really cool. Feels like ancient past and present are all happening at once.

  • There are a lot of places like that in Britain. I've been to Stonehenge, too. Very cool place indeed.
    Suspiro ergo sum.
  • nice stonehenge. merry christmas, everyone. i'll hunt up something to post. it will be old though.

  • here is one that is a render shadow did, photo diorama i composited in ulead, a scan of a pretty xmas card my mother sent from england that year i put in with ulead, adding in the lighting effects to be the window. my play-doh baby jesus is sucking his thumb. you can't see it but he's anatomically correct. hardest part was getting him covered in swaddling clothing after i finished him. the joseph robe and the head coverings were made from kleenex. by knowing the dolls are 4 inches tall you can see how small the baby is. i can't do miniatures like that anymore. the church program was made in ms paint.

    Great work Ladyfur. :)
  • thanks, nanobot and terre. when i needed a church bg. shadow had gotten the town hall or great hall or whatever it was called, and it looked just like the gothic style sanctuary i had pictured for my storyline. the xmas card was the only purple card in england, according to my mother at the time. she always tries to find purple cards. i wish i could make miniatures again. i hope everyone is warm, dry, and safe this winter.

  • Good morning. :)
  • Hey ho. We had ambitions for Boxing Day--but after two days of Christmas effort, we were pooped! I couldn't possibly do a whole month of it.

  • I only found out a few years ago what Boxing Day is. Until then I thought it had to do with the sport and had no clue why it would be right after Christmas.
  • aww, terre, lol. too funny.  oh, i forgot to say thank you. glad you liked it.

    suro, very nice.

  • Merry Christmas to those that haven't heard it yet out of me... Mine was warm enough that Cam was wearing shorts when we went to his parents' place on Christmas Day.  That's just wrong on so many levels.

  • Good morning. :)
  • "Tuesday Afternoon."

    It was surprisingly warm.

  • Just the way this software works, I think.
ETA: I noticed that when we got the forum back up. Month and year but no day for past years.

We haz white stuff piling up outside!
  • We don't.  :(
  • that's mean of the forum. enjoy the white stuff. i just want more of the wet stuff here.

  • Happy New Year everyone.
We even had some white stuff. Not snow, just a very heavy hail storm that settled and looked like snow. Some of the kids even made 'snow' men

  • LOL
Enough snow here that it's best for me to walk to work. It's just slightly over a half mile so no biggie.
  • No snow here.  Rain, yes.  Snow...no.  Trust me, I don't miss it.  lol

  • Terre, your walk to work is shorter than my walk to the park!

  • 10 inches! Apparently we got the heaviest snowfall in the state this time around!

ETA: Doesn't sound right for a town on the High Plains to get more snow than Angle Fire!

Funny thing is I've now had 4 co-workers say I was crazy to walk. LOL
  • lol- I used to walk three miles just to get to the station I needed every morning.  I'd have taken the bus, but where I lived the bus dropped me off to the station five minutes after the train left, so it did me no good.  People thought I was nuts too, but you do what you gotta.

  • Good morning. :)
  • Worst snow I walked in was in French alps. We'd been cross country skiing, staying with some friends who lived just across the border in Switzerland. On the last day they all went skiing and I went for a walk, supposedly on marked tracks so our friends said I wouldn't need the snow shoes. It wasn't long before I was sinking in over my knees! Putting one foot in front of the other when you have to pull your leg out of a 'hole' each time is not fun :D
  • Reminds me of walking to class after a blizzard up in Wisconsin... But I had my husband as snow-plow! I just stepped in his tracks. He also makes a great windbreak.

(He's 6'2" and I'm a foot shorter; he also doesn't look like a lit professor. More like a football coach)

  • Good morning. :)
  • Good evening :)
  • Evening here now too. :)
Quite cold but no more snow...yet anyway.
  • We got a little snow.  But mostly it's become quite seasonably cold.  Which is actually rather welcome from my point of view.
  • Good morning. :)
  • Good morning. Very windy here but at least it's a bit warmer :)

Hubby went off to Scotland this morning. His brother was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer just before Christmas, untreatable and spread to bowel. He already has his bucket list of things to do; one of which is to see Glasgow warriors (rugby union) play at home, so Pete's visiting so that they can watch the game next sunday together.
  • Sorry to hear about your brother in law.  :(
  • My sympathies.
  • Hey ho!

My sympathies as well, Dylazuna. I hope your brother-in-law has time for his bucket list!

Meanwhile, as our snow was melting under rain and whatnot:

Apparently Little Mr. Kitteh has taken my telling him that "you make everything better" to heart. He is now helping me with my digital arts.

We've arrived at a moderately comfortable accommodation--since my lap is slippery and I can't see over him, I put a folded blankie next to the keyboard in some of the precious free space on my desk. He spent most of yesterday there snoozing and hanging out, and I had a handy cat to pet!
